Academic Exchange and Project Insights in Lima

As part of our fieldwork in Peru for the PSSI project (Passive Solutions in Self-Build and Incremental Housing), members of our team from HafenCity Universität Hamburg (HCU) and Habitat for Humanity's Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter recently visited the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP).

Guided by faculty researcher Martín Wieser, we explored the facilities of Arquitectura PUCP, CIAC, and Centro Tierra. We also engaged in a inspiring dialogue with Professor Sofía Rodríguez Larraín on thermal adaptation, earth-based construction techniques, and passive design strategies in high-vulnerability settings.

To wrap up the visit, Dr. Jakub Galuszka and the team presented the initial findings from our research in Peru and Indonesia, opening up fruitful conversations on potential academic joint initiatives and local co-design workshops.
