On 28 February 2026, our researcher, Anna Wilk-Pham (HafenCity University Hamburg) delivered a guest lecture at the Master's Programme in Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) in Surakarta, Indonesia. The lecture, Climate, Water, and Informality: Participatory Pathways to Urban Resilience, explored how communities in incremental settlements adapt to climate challenges and how participatory approaches can support the co-production of water-sensitive urban design.
The session brought together students and faculty members to discuss locally grounded strategies for urban resilience, highlighting the importance of community knowledge, climate adaptation practices, and collaborative planning in rapidly urbanising contexts. The event was jointly organised by the Master's Programme in Architecture at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), HafenCity University Hamburg (HCU), and Kota Kita.
